Intergenerational Community Chinese New Year Dinner 2024

On March 2nd, 2024, HUG Community hosted a remarkable Intergenerational Community Chinese New Year Dinner, uniting generations and celebrating culture. The event was filled with vibrant energy as cherished elderlies from the Toa Payoh Community mingled with guests, enjoying a feast of delicious Chinese cuisine. Captivating performances by Beatty Secondary School students showcased Chinese heritage through music and Wushu, while inspiring speeches from student volunteers highlighted the transformative power of community service. With the presence of Mr. Chee Hong Tat, Minister of Transport and Second Minister of Finance, the night was complete with words of encouragement and awards for sponsors and youth leaders. This event epitomised the essence of HUG Community, fostering connections, celebrating diversity, and inspiring positive change.

HUG2Hearts Triumph Dunk Basketball Match 2024

On February 24, 2024, camaraderie, competition, and community spirit filled the air as we witnessed an electrifying basketball match between inmates from the Drug Rehabilitation Centre and volunteer players from HUG Community Services. This thrilling event, the culmination of our HUG2Hearts programme, showcased Triumph Dunk, our basketball initiative. Before the match, we marvelled at the inmates' newfound basketball skills and the teamwork and resilience they've fostered over three months. Witnessing their transformation has been truly inspiring. We extend heartfelt thanks to our dedicated volunteers, the committed inmates, and Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Minister of State for Home Affairs and National Development, for their support. These moments underscore the power of sports and empathy in driving positive change, and as we press on with HUG2Hearts and Triumph Dunk, we eagerly anticipate more opportunities to foster community connections and spread compassion.

UNODC Macau Seminar 2023

On October 30, 2023, HUG Community embarked on a significant journey to Macau, where we were honoured to participate in an international seminar on Drug and Alcohol prevention, hosted by the "Associação de Reabilitação de Toxidependentes de Macau" (ARTM) in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ). Our very own Pastor Grace represented HUG Community Services (HCS) as an International Speaker, sharing profound insights into our holistic approach to addiction support in Singapore. Her presence showcased the impactful work we do and highlighted our commitment to making a positive difference. This seminar not only facilitated global collaboration but also underscored our dedication to creating a healthier, more supportive world. We're excited to continue our journey, bridging borders, and working towards a more compassionate global community.
