Capital 958 Interview 2025

27 June 2025

We’re deeply grateful to Capital 958 for inviting Reverend Jeffrey Mak and Dr. Lee Cheng to speak about the HUGs Healer Programme during their broadcast on 27th June.

It was a meaningful opportunity to shed light on the growing impact of animal-assisted support, especially in providing comfort, companionship, and emotional healing for young individuals who may be going through difficult periods in their lives. Through the conversation, Reverend Mak and Dr. Lee highlighted how these therapeutic interactions with animals not only help create safe, non-judgmental spaces for expression and connection, but also foster emotional resilience and promote mental well-being in youth navigating the challenges of today’s world.

We believe that every opportunity to share these stories—especially on platforms that reach a wider audience—serves as a powerful reminder of the quiet strength of empathy, the transformative power of community, and the importance of innovative, compassionate approaches to care.

Such moments allow us to pause and reflect on how deeply community-based initiatives can influence lives for the better, and how healing doesn't always come in traditional forms—it often begins with understanding, kindness, and a wagging tail.

Our heartfelt thanks again to Capital 958 for their generosity in providing a space to talk about the HUGs Healer Programme and for playing a part in spreading awareness around animal-assisted interventions and the broader conversation around mental health support in our communities. Together, we can continue to build bridges of hope, connection, and healing.
