HUG at State of Play 2025
27 March 2025

On 27 March, HUG Community had the wonderful opportunity to participate in NVPC’s State of Play 2025.
The event provided a valuable platform for community partners to connect with companies, foster meaningful collaborations, and explore solutions to address gaps in the non-profit sector. We were delighted to share about our work with fellow organisations and attendees, showcasing the vital role our programmes play in supporting the community. Our beloved therapy animals — Courage, Mercy, and Holy — joined us to bring smiles and introduce the HUG Healers Programme.
We were also honoured to be featured in a Zaobao article that highlighted HUG Community’s involvement at the event. The article included an insightful discussion on the evolving donation landscape, noting an increase in the number of donors last year despite a slight decline in total donation amounts. It was a privilege to contribute to this broader conversation on charitable giving and sustainability.
Minister Edwin Tong also visited our booth, spending time with our therapy dogs and learning more about how animal-assisted activities help us connect with and support the people we serve. His visit was incredibly heartening and affirmed the growing recognition of collaborative efforts between organisations like HUG and others across the sector. As we celebrate SG60 this year, it’s encouraging to see greater appreciation for the contributions of the social service sector.
Reflecting on the event, it’s clear that progress is not just about individual achievements — it’s about how we uplift one another and work together to drive meaningful change. When we join forces, our collective impact becomes far greater, and we move closer to building a more compassionate society.
Let’s continue these important conversations and keep encouraging one another — it’s the small steps that lead to real, lasting difference.
