HUG Healers Programme Project Pawsitive Launch!

On 25 July, HUG Community was glad to support the launch of Project Pawsitive at Hwa Chong Institution School’s CSM Pet Booth.

Led by our student dog handler volunteers Taixin, Bryan, Anbo, Yebo, and Yunzhi, Project Pawsitive is a student-driven initiative promoting mental wellbeing through meaningful interactions with therapy dogs. The team hopes to create spaces within their school where students can feel at ease, supported, and

heard. As part of the launch, HUG’s Healers Programme (HHP) team brought along three of our beloved pawlunteers — Mercy,

Courage and Holy — to meet and connect with students. It was heartening to see smiles all around and quiet moments of comfort exchanged between the students and dogs.

We’re proud to see our younger volunteers taking the lead in creating a more caring and supportive environment among their peers. Encouraging youth leadership matters because it gives young people the chance to take initiative and grow through real-life experiences. They learn to listen, to care, and to step forward with intention. It also reminds the wider community that young people have the heart and capacity to shape positive change when given trust and support.

Keep it up, Project Pawsitive Team!
