What an amazing time we had at the Mai Gong Bo Jio event on April 20th! HUG Community came alive with laughter, music, and the irresistible aroma of delicious food. It was a celebration of togetherness and joy that left a lasting impression on everyone who attended. Both our youth volunteers and the elderly talked and interacted with one another to strengthen our intergenerational bonds with each other!
Our karaoke session was an absolute blast, with community members showcasing their vocal talents and belting out their favourite tunes. The spirit was alive with energy and enthusiasm. It was a true testament to the incredible talent and spirit of our community!
Our neighbours outdid themselves with a mouthwatering spread that included delightful treats such as baos, kway teow, and bee hoon. Each bite was a taste of home-cooked goodness that warmed both the stomach and the soul. A huge thank you to all the aunties and uncles who took the time to prepare and nourish our community!
But perhaps the most special moment of the morning was when we were honoured with a visit from Mr. Chee Hong Tat, Minister for National Development. His presence was a true highlight as he took the time to connect with the residents of Toa Payoh, listening to their stories and sharing in their experiences. And to top it all off, Mr. Chee joined in the singing and treated us to multiple performances that filled our hearts with joy.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making Mai Gong Bo Jio at HUG Community such a memorable and heartwarming event. Your participation, laughter, and camaraderie are what make our community truly special. Here’s to many more moments of fun, friendship, and togetherness in the years ahead!
