On the 20th of January, HUG's beloved Courage and Mercy, accompanied by a team of dedicated student volunteers, embarked on a heartwarming visit to Kwong Wai Shui Hospital as part of our HUG’s Healer Programme. This visit serves as the inaugural launch of visits to such hospitals that HUG would be conducting on a monthly basis.
Amidst wagging tails and joyful barks, our furry companions spread love and happiness to the patients and elderly residents, lighting up their day with warmth and companionship.
Beyond the smiles and tail wags, this visit was also a profound learning experience for our student volunteers. Witnessing firsthand the impact of their actions on the faces of the elderly brought a deeper understanding of the power of compassion and connection. It was a lesson in empathy and the importance of giving back to the community.
As we reflect on this heartening visit, we're reminded that happiness is often found in the simple moments of connection and kindness. The laughter and joy shared between our furry friends and the elderly residents exemplify the beauty of human-animal bonds and the healing power of companionship. Together, we continue to spread love and light, one wagging tail at a time.
