Hi everyone! We are pleased to share that HUG Community Services has received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Global Task Force for our role as a focal point in the Global Initiative on Drug Use Prevention – The Declaration of Oviedo. This campaign will continue until the end of 2025. Notably, several key demands from the Declaration of Oviedo were recognised during the 68th United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs last March.
Member States have adopted a resolution titled: “Promoting comprehensive, scientific evidence-based and multisectoral national systems of drug use prevention for children and adolescents.” This is a significant step forward, as prevention was given unprecedented importance and recognised as a key strategy in tackling drug-related issues worldwide. We are encouraged to leverage this resolution as a tool to enhance drug policies at both local and national levels.
This recognition truly affirm our ongoing commitment to effective drug use prevention and the impact of our work!
